Awards Night 2017

This years awards night was a very special occasion for the Worcestershire Black Knights as it gave us the chance to look back and celebrate our first season in the BAFA National Leagues. The night was hosted at our sponsor, Mode Worcester and a great night was had by all.

Throughout the night, various awards were given, ranging from the very prestigious ‘Debra James Club Person of the Year’ awards, to the downright ridiculous ‘Bromance’ Award.

The awards given out are as follows:

Timekeeper: Sean Franks (For always being late and getting lost on the way to Cornwall)
PAB: Luke Quadling (For always being injured, somehow..?)
Mr Forgetful; Ben Mallinson (For completely forgetting multiple committee meetings)
Ball Security; Chris Morse (For fumbling the ball and dropping multiple picks)
Bromance; Tom Conn & Jake Cassidy (For being inseparable and overly close with each other…)
Lookalike; Tom Duffield & Tommy Pickles (For looking like a Rugrat)
O MVP: Sam Bennett (For outstanding performances and scoring multiple touchdowns throughout the year)
D MVP: Tom Duffield (For being a sideline to sideline linebacker and having some stand out performances)
ST MVP: Chris Jones (For being consistently brilliant across all ST and using quick thinking to get us out of trouble on multiple occasions)
Most Improved: Tom Snell (For being a lot better than last year and stepping as QB when needed)
Rookie of the year: Jake Cassidy (For being a shutdown cornerback all year)
All In: Sean Franks (For consistent performances and coming up with big plays in all 3 phases of the game all season long)
Players Player: Tom Duffield (For being popular in the team…and a decent linebacker)
Players Coach: Clive James (For helping out where he can, leading a very effective RB / FB Unit and being Team Dad!)
Debra James Club Award: Simon Watten (For keeping the club going and doing a lot more than anyone actually realises!)
Hall of Fame: Andrew Lillington (For guiding a mainly rookie OL unit through the first season and travelling ridiculous miles to training)
